The Safest terminals

The events that took place on September 11, 2001 shocked the whole world. They caused security to become a primary issue everywhere. Together with parent company HPH, ECT is participating in the vanguard of important security initiatives like the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and the Container Security Initiative (CSI) with the USA. ECT is also actively involved in the introduction of Smart and Secure Tradelanes (SST).

ECT first and foremost considers security to be a social responsibility. But in addition, active participation in security initiatives provides an opportunity to establish preferable conditions for customers in respect to government procedures. In this way, attention for security also becomes a logistic advantage.

As of July 1, 2004, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has introduced further strict regulations. This new set of IMO regulations is known as the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS-Code). Of Course, ECT is fully compliant with this ISPS-Code.
