Together with partners, European Gateway Services (EGS), part of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam, is launching a new rail connection between Rotterdam and Munich. The new rail service replaces the existing connection with Munich and strengthens the rail product between Munich and Rotterdam.
Compared to the original connection, the new connection offers a number of changes to further improve quality and reliability. At the Maasvlakte, both Hutchison Ports ECT Delta and Hutchison Ports ECT Euromax are served by all trains and direct connections to the other terminals are possible on the basis of port transfers. Furthermore, the cargo closing time will become more appealing. Both the frequency of three times a week and the existing arrival days in Munich (Mon, Wed, Fri) remain unchanged.
One of the new partners is traction supplier BoxXpress; a well-established railway company in Germany, allowing EGS to deliver a high degree of reliability.
In addition to this new cooperation to Munich, EGS also connects Bavaria with Rotterdam via Nuremberg. EGS offers three departures a week under its own direction. For more information: www.europeangatewayservices.com.
