EGS connects all deepsea terminals Maasvlakte Rotterdam with Nuremberg
The network of connections European Gateway Services offers between Bavaria in Germany and the port of Rotterdam is increasingly becoming more comprehensive. The Rotterdam - Nuremberg rail shuttle is now already calling at all the deepsea terminals at the Maasvlakte (1 and 2).
Update: Mandatory safety instruction for visitors as of March 1 2020
We have reported earlier that as of March 1, 2020 it is mandatory for every visitor to the ECT terminals to follow a safety instruction, before one gets access to the terminal.This mandatory safety instruction applies to all visitors, contractors, suppliers, etc.However, this mandatory safety instruction does not apply to truck drivers in possession of a CargoCard who come to charge and/or discharge containers.
As of March 1; mandatory safety instruction for visitors
As of the 1st of March 2020, it is mandatory for every visitor to the ECT terminals to complete a safety instruction before they are permitted to enter the terminal. Without completing this safety instruction, they will no longer be granted access to the terminal. Everyone is kindly requested to explicitly make all visitors aware of this.It is already possible to follow the safety instruction at this time.
From the end of this week, the IEX service of Hapag Lloyd, Cosco, OOCL, ONE and Yang Ming will call at ECT's ECT Delta terminal. The IEX service is the Southeast India - Europe Express service launched this fall. This service is the only service that connects Southeast India with Europe. THE IEX service will call at the ECT Delta terminal on a weekly basis. The first ship to call at the ECT Delta terminal is the AL Rawdah on November 23, 2019.
Customs Rotterdam and Hutchison Ports ECT continuously work together to improve the efficiency of the customs process.As part of this, the declaration process for transit (T1 goods) and ‘fiat removal containers’ (Fiat Wegvoering, FWV) from the ECT Euromax terminal will change as per the 16th of September. The changes are as follows:
New functionality in the ECT App: push notification for Truck Queue
A new update of the ECT App has been released this week. The App is expanded with a new functionality, whereby the users can set push-notifications in case there is a truck queue at one of the ECT terminals. At individual trip level the user receives a message when he or she can enter the terminal.
Intercity Barge; more than 100.000 containers transported
Since last year is the Intercity Barge a proven success and shows that reliable barge services within the Port of Rotterdam area and the vicinity of the port can help to strengthen the supply chain.This barge service connects the terminals of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam at the Maasvlakte with the terminals and depots in the Waal-/Eemhaven area, Botlek area, Merwedehaven, Ridderkerk and Alblasserdam.
Together with partners, European Gateway Services (EGS), part of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam, is launching a new rail connection between Rotterdam and Munich. The new rail service replaces the existing connection with Munich and strengthens the rail product between Munich and Rotterdam.
Entirely 'green', Evergreen Line's Ever Glory was moored today on its maiden trip at the ECT Delta terminal of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT). The Ever Glory is Evergreen’s first 20,000 TEU vessel that is also equipped with scrubbers. The arrival of the Ever Glory also marks the 40-year relationship between Evergreen Line and ECT. That relationship began 40 years ago with the arrival of the Ever Vital; many ships would follow.
The new website of European Gateway Services (EGS) is live. The website can be reached via www.europeangatewayservices.com.The EGS network plays a central role on the new website. Using ‘MyConnection’, customers can easily check whether the destination of their container is served by EGS. This new tool uses the postal code of the destination to search for the nearest terminals in the EGS network. Requests for quotes or for further contact can be sent directly to our sales team via this tool.
ECT offers road transport more real-time information
ECT has expanded the ECT App with more real-time information about the handling of road transport. From today, drivers and planners can use the ECT App to request information on the level of busyness at the terminal. This makes it possible to more efficiently plan a visit to ECT.
The intelligent 'container 42', that the Port of Rotterdam Authority will be shipping around the world in the coming two years, was loaded yesterday, Monday 27 May, on a European Gateway Services (EGS) train with destination Munich. The container arrived on Sunday by means of the Intercity Barge of EGS at the ECT Delta terminal and has since left for Munich via the rail terminal. EGS provides also the rail transportation to Munich.
