Yesterday evening,CEO of ECT Leo Ruijs, accepted the VRC-Penning 2016 award on behalf of the entire company. The award was presented by Kees Groeneveld, Chairman of the Association of Rotterdam Shipbrokers and Agents (VRC). The certificate accompanying the VRC-Penning features the following text:
"With this, VRC wants to show its appreciation for ECT’s efforts for Rotterdam’s port business community in general and shipbrokers in particular. As the founder of container handling in the port of Rotterdam, ECT has already been a pioneer there for more than 50 years. Through its many investments and the implementation of new technologies and innovations, ECT has made it possible for the container sector to develop into what it is today.
After starting out in the Eemhaven, the transition was made to the Maasvlakte in the eighties of the last century; here, developments accelerated and the world’s very first automated terminal concept was developed. Through its theme “Connecting the Future”, ECT indicates that it wants to continue playing a leading role in the future as well."
ECT is proud of this wonderful token of recognition from our customers. With our expertise, we can continue to make a difference.
