SAFETY

To ensure and further improve safety at our terminals, ECT is introducing a mandatory safety and access test for all drivers visiting the ECT Delta terminal and/or the ECT Euromax terminal. By September 2026, every driver must hold this certification in order to access our terminals.

The test is conducted by Secure Logistics at Maasvlakte Plaza. The decision to offer the test at Maasvlakte Plaza is part of a broader development. TLN, in cooperation with Secure Logistics and other parties, is working on a port-wide safety video and test, with the aim of preventing drivers from having to complete separate tests for each individual terminal or location in the future. The ambition is to move towards one uniform safety test that will be valid for multiple locations within the port. ECT supports this ambition.

As preparation, each driver is required to watch the video below. Please note: this video is not available on site and must be viewed in advance.

The video is available in Dutch and English. Subtitles in other languages are available via the links below:

With this measure, ECT responds to the increasing complexity of terminal operations, safety regulations and traffic flows. The access test contributes to a safe, reliable and well-organised working environment for everyone visiting our terminals.

Practical information:

  • Each driver is entitled to three attempts to successfully complete the test.
  • If the test is not passed after three attempts, access to our terminals will be blocked for three months. After this period, the test may be taken again.
  • In order to take the safety test, it is mandatory to accept the ECT terms and conditions in the Secure Logistics customer portal: XS-ID Online.
  • Participation in the test is only possible with a CargoCard with registered facial recognition. If facial recognition has not yet been registered on the CargoCard, this can be arranged on site.
  • The safety test is conducted by Secure Logistics at Maasvlakte Plaza, Hormuzstraat 50, 3199 KW Rotterdam Maasvlakte (Port number 8780).
  • An appointment to take the test can be scheduled with Secure Logistics via this link
  • The test centre is open Monday to Friday from 08:15 to 16:30.
  • For night drivers, Secure Logistics is organizing several evening openings:
    • May 8 until 9:00 PM (last time slot 8:45 PM)
    • May 12 until 9:00 PM (last time slot 8:45 PM)
  • The certification is valid for two years. After this period, the test must be taken again.

ACCESSIBLE 24/7

Via the A15 motorway, the deepsea terminals of ECT offer direct access to the European motorway network. A large part of Europe can be reached by truck within 24 hours. The ECT Delta terminal and the ECT Euromax terminal are open round-the-clock for road transport as well. This also makes unloading and loading during quieter times in the evening and at night an attractive option. Because road hauliers always pre-notify their calls, ECT is able to optimally anticipate their trips; advanced automation ensures efficient handling.

ECT APP

Authorized users can use the 'crowd indicator' via the ECT app. The number of trucks present per block group is shown here, including a possible queue (including notification option). In addition, you see the average turn around time of a truck for both the Do-It-Yourself-Desk and the Remote-Check-In.

CARGO CARD

Truckers can only access the ECT terminals if they are in possession of a CargoCard.
