As of September 26th, Remote Check-In will be added to the service for pre-notification of visits to Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT). With this addition to Portbase's service ‘Hinterland Container Notification’, RCI will become available via one central platform for all container terminals in the port of Rotterdam. The current RCI service - via the E-Services of ECT - will cease to exist on 1 November.
Better through-flow thanks to Remote Check-In
By making a complete and correct pre-notification in ‘Hinterland Container Notification’, a driver at the ECT Delta Terminal no longer needs to go to Building 5. That easily saves about 15 minutes per visit. Drivers at the ECT Euromax terminal can also proceed more quickly, because at the gate only the RCI number needs to be entered.
Security
The introduction of Remote Check-In makes the gate process safer. When performing the journey, the PIN code is no longer required. It is replaced by the RCI number. In addition, the ride can only be performed by a driver with a cargo card from the organization that also created the Remote Check-In or the delegated carrier (charter).
Getting started via the web
The web screens of ‘Hinterland Container Notification’ have been adjusted for Remote Check-In. After your pre-notification for the ECT Delta and ECT Euromax, you will receive a TAR code. This TAR number is the same as the RCI number and is not time-limited. By entering the number at the entrance of the terminal, the driver can immediately start his terminal tour. On Portbase Support you will find everything you need to make the best use of Remote Check-In. Special attention is drawn to the information about:
- Linking multiple containers to one visit;
- Specifying containers that will remain on the truck during the visit to ECT (Remain-On-Truck). In addition to manual reporting, this can also be done automatically in ‘Hinterland Container Notification’;
- Declaration of trips by charters;
- Removal of empty containers via RCI.
Container status: up-to-date and faster
Simultaneously with the introduction of Remote Check-In in ‘Hinterland Container Notification’, the container status feedback from ECT to ‘Hinterland Container Notification’ will be improved:
- Also status changes that occur after all "balls" are green will soon be shown in ‘Hinterland Container Notification’.
- The status information feedback from ECT will take place on the basis of the newest and faster API techniques;
- The bullet "booking status" will turn green, if all conditions of the booking are fulfilled and the expected arrival time indicated by the carrier is after the cargo opening time.
Market launch
In the week of September 26th, users of the current RCI service - via the E-Services of ECT - will be gradually transferred to ‘Hinterland Container Notification’. If it is your company's turn you will receive a separate message about this.
As soon as the E-Services users have been transferred, RCI will be available in ‘Hinterland Container Notification’ for all road transport companies.
