Facial recognition via CargoCard

Last year, we announced that Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) would gradually transition to facial recognition as the biometric identification method for truck drivers. The rollout at the ECT Euromax terminal has now been successfully implemented, and we are ready to take the next step in this transition.

As from 8 September, ECT will switch to facial recognition as the new biometric verification method for truck drivers. The current devices that utilize finger vein technology will be gradually replaced with modern devices based on Facial Recognition on Chip (FROC) technology.
