General update Terminal Operating Systeem (TOS)

We are now four weeks into the migration to the new Terminal Operating System (TOS) at the ECT Euromax terminal. We are steadily seeing progress in operations, but unfortunately, we are still dealing with several challenges.

Deepsea and Feeder

For the handling of deepsea vessels, continuous close consultation is taking place with the involved shippinglines. In the meantime, discharge and loading operations have been carried out on both one and two deepsea vessels simultaneously.

Production levels in the handling of these vessels show a mixed picture. Some of the waterside disruptions experienced in recent weeks have now been resolved, while others have been assigned to our suppliers. Compared to earlier communications, current production levels are still below the desired estimates.

Rail, Barge and Truck

In recent weeks, we have informed you via Service Messages about the situation and occurring disruptions on the landside of the ECT Euromax terminal.

Unfortunately, we have had to activate the D-route for road transport several times due to various disruptions in the gate process. This has resulted in long waiting times and, at times, uncertainty for road carriers. Our apologies for this. Through our Service Messages, we will try to provide more specific information in the event of new disruptions.

Production levels for inland shipping are in line with expectations. Through Nextlogic’s planning tool, we are still scheduling barges with an adjusted number of moves per hour. Unfortunately, inland shipping has also been affected by the aforementioned waterside disruptions. We expect to see improvements in barge productivity in the coming period.

For rail operations, the number of trains handled daily is increasing.

Finally

We would like to thank you for your involvement, patience, and flexibility during the migration to the new TOS.

If you have any questions following this update, please let us know. Inland shipping operators should contact CAL as usual. For rail transport, rail operators and carriers can contact CAR with their questions.
