UPDATE: week 27
General
Last week Thursday, both our terminals experienced an IT network outage affecting land- and waterside operations. Although operations resumed at the end of the day, the restart of the ECT Delta terminal took unfortunately more time than anticipated.
Extreme weather conditions
Extreme temperatures hampered land- and waterside operations last week and during the weekend. These high temperatures caused technical disturbances and consequently had impact on productivity levels. Landside operations had to be stopped from Friday 10:00 hours till 21:00 hours.
The IT network outage and the extreme weather circumstances also affect our already full berthing schedules for the upcoming weeks.
ECT Delta terminal
Last week:
ECT Delta terminal had a full program with mostly dual deepsea at the DDN and triple/quattro deepsea at the DDE. The container yard occupancy for dry containers was high but remained under control due to additional measures. Service times for barges and feeders were higher than standard.
This and coming week:
ECT Delta terminal will have a very full program with dual deepsea at the DDN terminal and quattro deepsea at the DDE terminal. The container yard occupancy for dry containers and reefers is high. Measures are in place to manage the situation. Also this week a large number of reefers will be discharged, which requires a swift pick-up (preferably outside peak hours). Service times for barges and feeders will be much higher than standard.
ECT Euromax terminal
Last week:
ECT Euromax terminal had a full program with mostly dual deepsea alongside. The container yard occupancy for dry containers and reefers reached a high level last week but remained under control with several additional measures. Service times for barges and feeders were higher than standard.
This and coming week:
ECT Euromax terminal will have a full program with dual deepsea alongside during the upcoming two weeks. The container yard occupancy for dry containers remains high and therefore requires continued attention, particularly for empty equipment. A swift pick-up of import containers (preferably outside peak hours) is also necessary to keep the situation manageable. Service times for barges and feeders are expected to be higher than standard.
