The intelligent 'container 42', that the Port of Rotterdam Authority will be shipping around the world in the coming two years, was loaded yesterday, Monday 27 May, on a European Gateway Services (EGS) train with destination Munich. The container arrived on Sunday by means of the Intercity Barge of EGS at the ECT Delta terminal and has since left for Munich via the rail terminal. EGS provides also the rail transportation to Munich.
Container 42 is equipped with sensors and communication equipment to perform various measurements over the next two years. The first stop is the Transport Logistic trade exhibition in Munich (4-7 June).
