Limburg Express launched; new inland shipping connection between Rotterdam and Limburg
European Gateway Services (EGS), Barge Terminal Born and Danser Group have been joining forces and are offering a reliable transport corridor between Rotterdam and Limburg by means of the Limburg Express. In Rotterdam, the Limburg Express calls at the Hutchison Ports ECT Delta terminal and in Limburg at the inland barge terminals in Venlo and Born.
EGS offers synchromodal transport to and from Southern Germany.
European Gateway Services (EGS) connects Rotterdam with the south of Germany by means of both rail and inland shipping. Through the deployment of various modalities, EGS is able to optimally respond to the wishes of customers and to current conditions. ECT consequently offers its customers a flexible network rather than just a connection.
Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) welcomes the EVER Gifted from container shipping line Evergreen on her maiden call. The vessel, with a capacity of around 20,000 TEU, makes its first roundtrip from Asia. Rotterdam is the first European port of call. The EVER Gifted is handled at the ECT Euromax terminal, with an 8-crane operation.On this trip, the vessel will bring 6,000 import containers to Rotterdam via ECT. On the way back, after a visit to Hamburg and Felixstowe, the EVER Gifted will call at the ECT Delta to load 6,000 export containers.

On 4 September 2018 as of 13:00 hours over 400 Hanjin containers (reefers (ultra), open tops, flats , 20 ft and 40 ft standard containers) will be auctioned under the control of the bailiff at the Hutchison Ports ECT Delta terminal, Europaweg 875, 3199 LD Maasvlakte, havennumer 8200.
ECT and Cabooter Group start collaboration in Venlo
ECT and Cabooter Group will collaborate in order to improve the handling of rail transport from and to Venlo. As of Tuesday the 19th of June, the trains of European Gateway Services (EGS), a subsidiary of ECT, departing from Rotterdam will also call at the terminal of the Cabooter Group in Venlo. In total, three trains a week will be loaded and unloaded at this terminal. Both import and export cargo are involved.
European Gateway Services (EGS) and Danser Group are launching ‘Intercity Barge’. This inland barge service connects the ECT terminals at the Maasvlakte with terminals/depots in the Waalhaven/Eemhaven area, the Botlek area, the Merwehaven and the inland terminals Ridderkerk and Alblasserdam.
ECT expands fixed windows pilot for inland shipping
Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) is expanding the pilot with fixed windows for inland vessels with large call sizes. The pilot, which commenced in January of this year, has proven successful and ECT is now ready to embark on a next phase. In this next phase, the number of participants in the pilot will be expanded and further testing will take place on tighter and new rules.
European Gateway Services (EGS) has won the first German Dutch Logistics Award for its vision on synchromodal transport and the way in which it is put into practice. The prize was presented on Tuesday afternoon in Duisburg during the 5th edition of the German Dutch Logistics Conference.
ECT to launch ‘fixed windows’ pilot for barge handling
Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) aims to further expand its service provision to barge operators and more effectively cater to the various segments that make up the inland container shipping market. To this end, a pilot with so-called ‘fixed windows’ for inland barges will be launched in January 2018. If the pilot proves to be successful, then ECT will make this service available to the market; the various conditions under which this will occur will be tested in the pilot.
Empty Transferium for containers at ECT Euromax terminal
Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT), United Waalhaven Terminals (UWT) and Smith Holland will launch an Empty Transferium at the ECT Euromax terminal at the Maasvlakte. The Empty Transferium will provide so-called empty depot services for both refrigerated containers (reefer containers) and ‘regular’ containers at the deepsea terminal.
